Cryptid 004 Bigfoot
A.K.A. Sasquatch

Location: Reports of sililar creatures have been found all over the world, but the most classic of these is the case of the North American creature Sasquatch, which as been said to live primairly in the Pacific North-West United States and Canada
Type: Ape-Like Hairy Humanoid

Evidence: Countless Sightings and hundreds of Plaster-cast foot prints.

Possible Population size: At least over one hundred.

My thoughts and theories:
Although the term "Bigfoot" has come to indicate any large, bipedal, quasi-humanoid primate found on Earth, the fact remains that only a relatively small population of these creatures (which allegedly dwell in the dense forests of the American Pacific North West) actually deserve to bear the name. Believed by many researchers to belong to the same species and population of Hairy-Hominids that the Canadian SASQUATCH belong to, these animals have been seen throughout Northern California, Oregon, Idaho and Washington State.
Although legends of these man-like beasts had been passed sown from generation to generation in Native american folklore, the name "Bigfoot" wasn't coined until October 5, 1958, when Humboldt Times columnist, Andrew Genzoli, laid his eyes on the biggest footprints he had ever seen. The tracks came into the Humboldt newsroom under the arms of construction worker Jerry Crew, who had made plaster casts of the gigantic footprints, which he had discovered embedded in the mud in Bluff Creek Valley - thus a legend was born anew.
Described by most eyewitnesses as being a bipedal, 7-foot tall, hair covered, ape-like humanoid, the visage of this creature was made internationally famous, when on October 20, 1967, rodeo performer and rancher, Roger Patterson and his cohort, Bob Gimlin, filmed with a hand-held, 16mm Kodak movie camera what is considered by many anthropological experts to be the single best piece of evidence regarding the existence of Hairy Hominids. The film would come to be known as the Patterson-Gimlin footage.
The event, which occurred in Bluff Creek California, has yielded what is arguably the most controversial piece of film footage in American History - with the notable exception of the 22 seconds of Super 8 film showing the Kennedy assassination: the Zapruder Footage. Although numerous skeptics would attempt to debunk the Patterson film as an obvious fake in the following decades, Patterson went to his grave swearing that the event was not hoaxed and that the film was authentic.
Over the years many esteemed investigators became associated with this phenomenon., but physical anthropologist Dr. Grover Krantz lent prehaps the most credibility to this investigation during the later half of the 20th century, and it was his position that modern Bigfoot sightings were, in fact, encounters with the presumed extinct, gigantic gorilla known as Gigantopithecus Blacki.
As recently as October of 2003, police officer and fingerprint expert, Jimmy Chilcutt of the Conroe Police Department in Texas, claimed that his investigation regarding the dermal ridges found on alleged Bigfoot tracks showed flow patterns that could not have been made by a human or any other known primate. This stands as the best evidence to date regarding the existence of these amazing animals.
Closing statement: When you think of Cryptozoology, Bigfoot is the first creature you think about. It is one of the most well known Cryptids, rivaled only by the Loch Ness Monster. I not only belive Bigfoot exists, but I'm all put positive it exists. It is the one creature we have found the most evidence of, as well as the most commonly sighted cryptid on earth. It truly is only a matter of time before this marvle of modern science is discovered.

Thanks.
I was going to do something much more complicated with the fur, but I decided against it. I'm glad it worked out.
