An advocate of slowing progress, and a firm beliver in the preservation of nature and life, Simon spent the vast majority of his life studying the power of nature and the effects of magic on the natural world. Having seen the devastation caused by war, as well as the destruction caused by greed, he learned the ways of a Shaman in order to hopefuly stop the wide-spread turmoil caused by thoes who disrespect nature, as well as repair some of the damage they left behind. Although he does belive that not all technology and progress is bad, he is well aware of the disregard that may big corporations, as well as the devastating effects that war has on life as a whole. He spent close to fifty years speaking out against these problems in an attempt to try to change them. Unfourtunately, no one seemed to listen to what he had to say. Or so he thought.
On one occasion, he spoke out publicly against a local mayor's decision to pave over a feild, when he meet a traveling street magician. It didn't take long for Black Jack to befriend Simon. Having garnered a massive amount of respect for the elf's passion and benediction to his cause, (not to mention being intrested in Simon's incredible control over earth and nature magic), Black Jack convinced the elf that his opinions would be better heard if he traveled around with him. Realizing that he could reach more people out on the road than cooped up in a town that didn't care about him, Simon gleefuly accepted and joined the magician in hopes that he could at leas help him spread the word.

Artist's note:
Not much I can say about Simon. He's actually based on a VERY old self insertion character I once used.... when I went through my hippy phase.... christ, I was a nerd. Any way, I didn't have the heart to scrap him, and now that I redesigned him I actually kind of like the way he turned out.
